All The Best:! MUET Mid Year - Speaking 2009
Yesterday this blog received 129 hits all due to MUET Speaking which will start later today. From that (referring to keywords that lead them here) I could conclude that many students wait until the last minutes to prepare themselves for MUET Speaking. This is not a good thingh, because for speaking components, an overnight preparation will not get you through the exam successfully.
Well... maybe they were actually looking for possible topics that will come out? Hmmm... maybe..
Anyway.... I wish all of you all the best, don't forget to start with a greeting to the examiners and other candidates!

MUET: Another Speaking Tips
This is from http://izam70speaks.blogspot.com
My MUET speaking tips is made with my students in mind. Most of them found English intimidating even though I've tried my best to bring cheer and excitement in my lessons.
TIPS :
i. Greetings
Make it short and simple greetings e.g. Good morning, Good morning
everyone. (no extra marks for your lengthy and elaborate greetings)
ii. Introduction
Use the sentence, phrases or words from the question to make your
introduction.
e.g.
Situation
Academic ability alone is not enough for new graduates to succeed in the
workplace. What else do they need to succeed at work?
Task A: New graduates need good communication skills. Explain why this
is important.
" Academic ability alone is not enough for new graduates to succeed in the
workplace. In my opinion they need to have good communication skills
if they want to succeed."

MUET: Speaking Tips
How to improve your English speaking skills?
Speak in English with your teachers and friends at school and speak in English with your parents and siblings at home. Grab any opportunity you have to speak in English.
Most Chinese native speakers are ashamed to speak in English because they think they cannot speak fluently compared to those English native speakers. In fact, the earlier you start to speak in English, the more fluent you can speak.
Think in English
You might be surprised that thinking in English actually helps you in speaking in English. Try to think or think aloud in English. It helps since you do not have to worry about the spelling error.
Again, thinking in English for non-English native speakers is sometimes very hard at the beginning. However, once you have started for a few days or weeks, you will get used to think in English.
Practice makes perfect. By following these effective tips, you should be able to speak in English confidently in your Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
