Kolej Poly-Tech MARA : 25th Convocation (The Rehearsal)

This year (again),I am fortunate enough to be able to attend KPTM's 25th Convocation. Just like last year, this memorable event took place at Putrajaya International Convention Center.

The venue for the convo: Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC) - don't u get the feeling that the building is like a flying saucer on top of a hill?

On our way to get our caps n gowns

This way please....

The gown... yesss... it is called a gown not a robe

and here is Mr. Badrul trying out his cap

The view inside - rehearsal time!! What's with the boring face???

Recycling Center

I'm going green today... gonna do my part in making our mother earth happy....

yesterday....

I brought home 2 full loads of this from college co-op

so earlier today... with my trusted batmobile (hiksss) I went to the recycling center, very near to my house... the place is... Kuantan Recycle Sdn. Bhd.

the weight in - 1 220 kg, weight out - 1 170 (after they took out the boxes from the car)

this place is huge!! This photo only shown the paper section... wayyyy back is the metal, plastics and glass sections.

Newspapers can take 5 years to decompose.

What do you think: is newspaper worth recycling?

the worker there taking out full load of boxes from my car.

These boxes will be repulped n molded into egg cartons, fruit trays or even construction material; wallboard, flooring, padding etc....

RM12 for 50kg of papers. Thank you Kuantan Recycle Sdn. Bhd. !!

Do you know???

It takes 20 years for a plastic bag to decompose and 250 years for a plastic cup to decompose.

It takes 500 years for an aluminum can to decompose.

So...come on..do your part! Recycle your waste...

Civil Defense Class at KPTM Kuantan

It's 6:35pm and I am still at work...

Today I have HBU 132 class from 5-7pm. Though I'm not teaching that class but I still have to wait up for the class to end. HBU 132 (Civil Defense III) is a co-curriculum class for semester 3 Engineering students. Today I was quite devastated with the number of students attending the class. Not even half of them turned up! Something has to be done... I need to send warning letters to those who are not taking this class seriously. Grrrrrr..... (that's me showing my frustration :p)

Well..since I've got time...let me write a little bit about this class.

For this semester, the college (Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Kuantan) offers two courses of co-curriculum for Engineering students. Both are Civil Defense classes - Level 1 and 2. It is compulsory for all Engineering students here (also those of other campuses) to take 3 co-curriculum classes for the whole 3 years of their diploma program. Engineering Faculty of UiTM Shah Alam opted for their students to take Civil Defense course.

Therefore, here I am waiting for them to finish the class.. *sigh* but hey.. I am not complaining.. it's my job rite...owhh by the way.. the class is taught by the people from Jabatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (JPA3). Very qualified n well trained personnels. They are also involved with PLKN.

Well...just not in the mood to go into gory details... as usual...let the photos do the talking...

Here are photos of previous semester class.

Kolej Poly-Tech MARA : Convocation

Congratulations to all students - especially those who are from KPTM Kuantan
